SCFC IDPA Introductory Class NO CHARGE!

Come learn about the exciting sport of International Defensive Pistol Association (IDPA) shooting. IDPA is the use of practical equipment to solve simulated real world self-defense scenarios using practical handguns and holsters that are suitable for self-defense use. The main goal is to test the skill and ability of an individual, while simulating self-defense scenarios and real life encounters. IDPA offers an exciting forum for practical shooters in which equipment, techniques and courses of fire are mandated.

This is a fun, fast-paced, timed, live-fire sport concentrating on safety

– 9:30AM 2:00PM, Clubhouse and then on the range
– This is a NO-COST event, must be 18 years of age

– The purpose of this class is to cover the basics of the sport, concentrating on the safety of everyone involved.
It is NOT meant as a firearms training course.

What to bring
– Eye Protection required

– Handgun (.38/9mm through .45 caliber, semi-auto or revolver) required
– 50 rounds of ammunition required
– Outside the Waistband (OWB) or Inside The Waistband (IWB) Holster optional
– Good to bring if you have one you are thinking of using in competition
– No Appendix Carry allowed for the intro course
– (2) Belt Magazine Holders highly recommended

Check in usually begins 0730, no later than 0800. Stages setup to approx. 0830. Please plan on helping with stages set up. Match briefing starts at 0830. Shooting starts immediately after match briefing and squadding are completed.
Where: West End Gun Club upper rifle range. Non-WEGC members will check in with the Range Officers office at the main range and indicate visiting to participate in the PBR match at the upper range. Please watch your speed your entire time as you drive through the range for safety and dust control (5 mph on WEGC range property).

WEGC is a cold range.
Keep driving speed down to 15 mph on the road to the entry gate, and 5 mph on the range. This is for everyones safety. Enforcement may lead to violators being asked to go home without shooting the match.
All competitors and guests must sign a waiver(Please complete your online waiver) to be on range property or to shoot.

DAP IDPA Match **Easter Sunday** starts at 9am and check-in closes at 08:30a.. Be sure to arrive early to check-in, you will not be able to participate if you are not checked in. Sign ups are online only through Practiscore.com, limited walk-Ins will be accepted only if the match is not full. The Club is using STRIPE to process payments via Practiscore.

To participate in a IDPA match at the Diablo Pistol Action range you must have successfully completed our Orientation/Safety Class or have a current USPSA /IDPA /SCSA/ICORE classification above the level of “U” or “UN” (unclassified). In addition each participant needs to bring or have a photo of a current USI waiver range card (“Blue or Green” card) to shoot at the range. If you do not have a current card go to https://unitedsportsmen.com/waiver/ for more information, watch the videos and take the online quiz prior to the class.
