Thank you for visiting the International Defensive Pistol Association (IDPA)! We are pleased to welcome all members of the shooting community. We are happy we had the chance to meet you at the NRA Annual Meeting and are thrilled that you’ve chosen to check us out.
IDPA is defensive-oriented shooting competition that features equipment and gear commonly found in stores that is suitable for everyday concealment or use. Join IDPA to learn and improve your shooting skills.
IDPA shooting events require the use of practical handguns and holsters that are truly suitable for self-defense. IDPA is perfect for concealed carry permit holders and firearms enthusiasts. IDPA allows you to gain skill and experience with your firearm in a safe, fun, and challenging environment. If you’re new to shooting, the IDPA community could be your best new asset. If you’re a seasoned shooter, you’ll fit right in as well. We’re confident you’ll have fun, connect with other shooters, and improve your skills.
WHY SHOOT WITH IDPA?
An IDPA Membership gives you the ability to compete in official sanctioned matches, view match results and scores, join clubs, connect with other shooters through member profiles, and much more. There’s never been a better time to get involved in competitive shooting.
WHAT OTHER BENEFITS WILL I GET WITH IDPA?
An IDPA Membership not only gives you the ability to compete on a local or global level with other competitors, it gives you access to exclusive member’s only content like our quarterly ezine, the Tactical Journal, our weekly newsletter, the Tactical Brief, and access to find and offer firearms training from trainers around the world.
HOW DO I JOIN A LOCAL CLUB?
Most IDPA competitors are members of a local IDPA club, and there are more than 300 affiliated IDPA clubs around the world. Every weekend you’ll find a weekly, monthly, regional, or championship match taking place at one of these clubs.
Finding a club and getting started in IDPA competition is easy, and as an IDPA member, you’re always welcome at any IDPA club. Think of IDPA clubs as your home away from home, well, your shooting home anyway.
