Glenn Shelby Wins CDP Title at Smith & Wesson IDPA Indoor Nationals

BERRYVILLE, Ark. – Wilson Combat’s Glenn Shelby returned to the winner’s circle when he captured the Custom Defensive Pistol division title at the Smith & Wesson IDPA Indoor Nationals this past weekend in Springfield, Massachusetts.

Shelby, who is the dominating force in his division, claimed the CDP title with his final time of 217.45 seconds while shooting just 39 points down. Overall, Shelby placed fourth among the 328 shooters competing in the annual championship.

“Glenn is a tremendous shooting talent and has been the leading CDP competitor in IDPA over the last few years. Winning the Smith & Wesson Indoor Nationals, yet again, shows that 2015 is likely going to be another great year for Glenn,” said Joyce Wilson, executive director of IDPA.

Second place in the division went to Smith & Wesson’s David Olhasso who finished sixth overall with 225.16 (65). Shelby’s Wilson Combat teammate Austin Proulx took first Master and finished 16th overall with 241.81 (72). Rounding out the top five were Team Colt’s Mark Redl who finished fourth in the division, 18th overall and claimed the High Senior title with 243.58 (71) while Chris Chamberlin placed fifth, and 20th overall, with 245.32 (70).

Elsewhere in the Custom Defensive Pistol division, Bob Biehl took first Expert with 268.23 (50), Andy Holton won first Sharpshooter with 335.97 (119) and Danielle Vermeulen claimed first Marksman with 398.74 (142).

Randi Rogers Wins Smith & Wesson Indoor Nationals Ladies Title

BERRYVILLE, Ark. – Randi Rogers of Team Comp-Tac and Team Smith & Wesson claimed the Ladies title at the 2015 Smith & Wesson IDPA Indoor Nationals this past weekend in Springfield, Massachusetts.

Rogers, who competed in the Stock Service Pistol division, finished with a final time of 247.46 seconds while shooting 75 points down. This is the seventh time Rogers has taken the Ladies title at the Indoor Nationals.

“Randi is one of the very best shooters in IDPA, and not just among the women. She holds multiple national and world titles in the shooting sports and we’re proud to recognize her among IDPA’s best,” said Joyce Wilson, executive director of IDPA.

Finishing second behind Rogers was fellow Smith & Wesson shooter Julie Golob who also competed in the SSP division and shot the match in 267.52 seconds with 86 points down. Third place went to Enhanced Service Pistol division shooter Joanna Lenczewska with 314.61 (133). Katie Rowe finished fourth with 382.04 (161) in SSP while Danielle Vermeulen rounded out the top five shooting a final time of 398.74 (142) in the Custom Defensive Pistol division.

Colt’s Mark Redl Wins Senior Title at Smith & Wesson IDPA Indoor Nationals

BERRYVILLE, Ark. – Colt’s shooting team member Mark Redl won High Senior at the 2015 Smith & Wesson IDPA Indoor Nationals this past weekend in Springfield, Massachusetts.

Redl competed as a Master in the Custom Defensive Pistol division where he finished fourth, and 18th overall out of the more than 320 shooters competing in the championship. He shot 71 points down and posted a final time of 243.58 seconds.

“Congratulations to Mark and Team Colt on taking High Senior at this year’s Smith & Wesson IDPA Indoor Nationals. Mark faced off against some very strong shooters and held on to take the title,” said Joyce Wilson, executive director of IDPA.

Second place in the race for the Senior title went to Team Smith & Wesson’s Jerry Miculek who competed in the Enhanced Service Revolver division with 263.81 (80). Bob Biehl, another CDP shooter, finished third with 268.23 (50). Rounding out the top five were Walt Proulx competing in CDP with 276.48 (108) and Scott Warren who finished with 280.05 (122) while competing in the Enhanced Service Pistol division.

Miculek Outpaces Lentz to Claim Smith & Wesson ESR Indoor Title

BERRYVILLE, Ark. – Team Smith & Wesson shooters, and two of the top wheelgun shooters in the shooting sports, Jerry Miculek and Josh Lentz battled for the Enhanced Service Revolver division title at the Smith & Wesson IDPA Indoor Nationals with Miculek taking the championship by 13.69 seconds.

Miculek won 10 of the 13 stages on his way to posting a final time of 263.81 seconds with 80 down. Lentz, who won the other three stages, finished with 64 points down in a time of 277.50.

“Jerry Miculek continues to dominate the revolver shooting sports. His talent and skill with a wheelgun is unparalleled so it’s no surprise that he’s collected yet another IDPA national title,” said Joyce Wilson, executive director of IDPA.

Rounding out the top five in the division were Bill Thorpe, an Expert class shooter, with 377.54 (121). Master shooter Ken Ortbach claimed fourth with 379.87 (129) while Roger Coutant, another Expert, took fifth with 444.99 (187).

Linskey Cruises to Smith & Wesson Indoor Nationals Revolver Win

BERRYVILLE, Ark. – Joe Linskey won eight of the 13 stages to outpace his nearest competitor by over 60 seconds on his way to winning the Stock Service Revolver division title at the Smith & Wesson IDPA Indoor Nationals this past weekend in Springfield, Massachusetts.

Linskey, who won the Indoor title previously in 2012, and is one of a handful of Distinguished Masters in IDPA, finished the match in a final time of 281.75 seconds while shooting 49 points down.

“It is great to see Joe return to the winner’s circle at the Smith & Wesson IDPA Indoor Nationals. Joe is an accomplished revolver shooter as evidenced by his victory here in Springfield,” said Joyce Wilson, executive director of IDPA.

Taking second in the division was Joel Penney with 348.30 and 97 points down. Chris DeForge took third with 350.05 and 90 points down while Wil Cournoyer and John Iacomini rounded out the top five with 353.37 (66) and 358.13 (96) respectively.

Sig’s Mason Lane Wins High Junior and Most Accurate at S&W Indoor Nationals

BERRYVILLE, Ark. – Mason Lane of the Sig Sauer Academy shooting team not only claimed the High Junior title at the 2015 Smith & Wesson IDPA Indoor Nationals but also took home the award for Most Accurate.

Lane finished the match in eighth place overall among the 320-plus competitors and took third in the highly competitive Stock Service Pistol division where he posted a final time of 228.26 second while shooting an amazing 31 points down.

“Mason shot an outstanding match and, despite being just 17, is proving to be a serious challenger to IDPA’s best shooters. The Smith & Wesson IDPA Indoor Nationals is always a difficult, technical match to shoot, yet Mason made it look easy,” said Joyce Wilson, executive director of IDPA.

Second place in the competition for High Junior went to 16-year-old Ashley Rheuark who finished 10th overall in the match with her final time of 232.01 seconds (52) in the Enhanced Service Pistol division. Though she competed for the Junior title, hers was the best time posted by any woman in the match.

Rounding out the top five were ESP shooters Padraic Sullivan with 258.94 (82), Eric West with 265.64 (126) and Justin Winstead with 294.20 (78).
