Rules Clarifications for First Quarter, 2014

Today we have posted the clarifications document for the first quarter of 2014. This document addresses requests that were submitted through Feb. 3rd. Submissions after that period will be addressed in the Q2, 2014 Clarifications document. Some requests may not be listed if it was determined by the team that no clarification was needed, or if the request was for a rule change rather than a clarification.   These clarifications will go into effect immediately.

I encourage all Area Coordinators, Safety Officer Instructors and Match Directors to familiarize themselves with the clarifications and cascade to their shooters.

The Q1 Rulebook Clarifications document can be found here:

IDPA Membership and Renewal offer from Safariland

Holster maker Safariland® is renewing its partnership with the International Defensive Pistol Association (IDPA), offering new and renewing members that sign up between February 1 thru March 31 a special 50% Holsters.com discount card.

New and renewing IDPA members will receive a one-time-use discount card for use on Holsters.com. The Holsters.com card is good for the purchase of gear with a retail value totaling up to a maximum of $1,000 before the 50% discount is applied – allowing IDPA members to save up to $500 in new Safariland®, Bianchi®, Break-Free® and KleenBore™ products.

“2013 was another great year for IDPA and we are glad that we were able to participate in the new member and renewing member program. We are pleased to offer this program again, be sure to take advantage while the offer is there! You will see that we offer a wide range of products to meet your needs for IDPA and more,” said Scott Carnahan, VP of Safariland and Bianchi.

To take advantage of this special Safariland promotion current (or lapsed) members of IDPA should log in to renew. Those joining IDPA for the very first time should fill out the new member online application. Once the new membership or renewal process is completed, IDPA will send you your Holsters.com 50% discount card along with your membership materials.

IDPA US Nationals Date Change

The IDPA US Nationals has changed its dates to September 9th – 13th, 2014. Unfortunately a lack of available dates at the range for the USPSA Nationals forced them to move to the date range that IDPA has historically used for our Nationals.

Luckily, we have a great relationship with our excellent host range, the US Shooting Academy, and were able to change the dates to accommodate those competitors that would like to participate in both great National Events. We hope that getting this changed so early allows our members to adjust schedules with no issues.

Be sure to check the IDPA website at http://www.idpa.com/compete/competitiondetails/13613 to check for updates and more information regarding this match. We look forward to seeing you at the range in September.
