SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Dillon Precision (www.dillonprecision.com), manufacturers of premium reloading presses and components, has generously come aboard as a major contributing sponsor for the 2014 California State IDPA Championship taking place on Saturday, October 4, 2014.

Held at the Sacramento Valley Shooting Center (www.sacvalley.org), this fully sanctioned tier three championship event will consist of 11 stages and is limited to 175 total competitors holding a current IDPA classification of Marksman or higher. Registration for the 2014 California State IDPA Championship is currently open to competitors, as well for those seeking to work the match as staff.

The state’s top shooters will compete for the five IDPA division titles as well as Most Accurate, High Lady, High Junior, High Senior, High Distinguished Senior, High Industry, High Press, High International, High Military and High Law Enforcement honors. BERRYVILLE, Ark. – Ruger Firearms, one of the nation’s most respected gun makers, has signed on as a premier sponsor of the 2014 Smith & Wesson New England Regional IDPA Championship.

Taking place this weekend, August 15-17, the 2014 Smith & Wesson New England Regional IDPA Championship is again being hosted by the MetroWest Tactical IDPA club at the Harvard Sportsmen’s Club.

IDPA Previews Smith & Wesson New England Regional Course Of Fire

BERRYVILLE, Ark. – Starting with the King of New England stages, organizers of the 2014 Smith & Wesson New England Regional IDPA Championship are previewing all 14 stages of the course of fire competitors will face at this year’s championship.

Taking place the weekend of August 15-17, the 2014 Smith & Wesson New England Regional IDPA Championship is again being hosted by the MetroWest Tactical IDPA club at the Harvard Sportsmen’s Club in Massachusetts.

In addition to determining the regional champion in each of IDPA’s five handgun competition divisions, the match also serves as the second leg of the popular King of New England series, which is being presented by Apex Tactical Specialties. In June the 18th Annual Massachusetts State IDPA Championship, presented by Smith & Wesson, kicked off the series which concludes with New Hampshire’s Smith & Wesson Live Free Or Die State IDPA Championship in October.

Four stages from each of the three major New England championships make up the 12 stage challenge. The following stages represent the New England Regional Championship’s portion of the King of New England:

Stage 1 - Graveyard Shift at the Warehouse
Stage 3 - Never Stop for Directions
Stage 6 - On The Move
Stage 7 - Trouble in Iquitos 1
Stage 10 - Working the Angles (alternate)

A Girl & A Gun Sending Women’s Squad to IDPA U.S. National Championship

BERRYVILLE, Ark. – Among the 300-plus shooters competing for the 2014 IDPA U.S. National Championship this September will be a select group of women from the fast growing national women’s program, A Girl & A Gun Women’s Shooting League.

A Girl & A Gun is the ladies-only organization established by women shooters for women shooters for the pistol, rifle and shotgun sports. Founded in February of 2011 in Austin, Texas, A Girl & A Gun today has more than 2,500 members in 67 chapters across 23 states, making it the fastest growing women's shooting organization.

In partnership with the International Defensive Pistol Association (IDPA), A Girl & A Gun held an introductory IDPA postal competition for its members with 12 women randomly selected to represent the organization at IDPA’s 2014 U.S. National Championship being held September 9-13 at the U.S. Shooting Academy in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

The all-ladies squad of AG&AG members will be coached through the match by Team Comp-Tac’s Randi Rogers, the reigning Women’s National Champion.

“I have been in the IDPA family for eight years and A Girl and A Gun was created as a resource to share my love of the shooting sports with as many women as possible. To sponsor the first all-ladies squad gives me a huge sense of accomplishment and pride,” said Julianna Crowder, president of A Girl & A Gun.

Representing A Girl & A Gun in the 2014 IDPA U.S. Nationals will be Andrea Lawrence of Missouri, Heidi Darst, Robin Keating, Victoria Kogan, Memarie Lawrence, Tina Maldonado, Christy Ross and Ashley West of Texas, Jennie Van Tuyl and Tiffany Venters of Washington and Renee Krawiec and Wendy Troutman of Wyoming.

Apex Back As Sponsor Of Smith & Wesson IDPA Back Up Gun Nationals

BERRYVILLE, Ark. – Officials with the International Defensive Pistol Association (IDPA) announced that Apex Tactical Specialties has once again signed on as a major sponsor of the Smith & Wesson IDPA Back Up Gun Nationals taking place November 6-8, 2014.

As part of their support Apex will be one of the stage sponsors for the competition. The company will be represented in the match by Team Apex’s Scott and Maddy Folk.

“Last year’s Smith & Wesson Back Up Gun Nationals was one of the best events of the season and we could not wait to be a part of this year’s championship. Apex is proud to continue its support of IDPA and the championships hosted by Smith & Wesson,” said Scott Folk of Apex.
