Official IDPA Cardboard Target Now Available From Law Enforcement Targets

Law Enforcement Targets, Inc. (LET) announced that it will begin offering the official International Defensive Pistol Association (IDPA) cardboard target. Company officials recently completed negotiations and production of the target. IDPA was created in 1996 to promote a shooting sport based on defensive pistol techniques.

David O’Meara (Division Manager for LET) stated, “LET is very pleased to be aligned with IDPA and we feel confident that this new partnership will strengthen each other’s’ organizational goals.” This arrangement will allow LET to reach the interest of more shooters and IDPA will benefit by the broad geographical reach of LET, especially beyond the borders of the U.S.A.

The IDPA targets are available now through LET and will be accompanied by a paper practice target used to learn the particular scoring zones of the official cardboard version.

NSSF Sponsors Inaugural Smith & Wesson IDPA Back Up Gun Nationals

BERRYVILLE, Ark. – The National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), the trade association for the firearms, ammunition, hunting and shooting sports industry, continues its overall mission to promote the shooting sports in America with sponsorship of the inaugural Smith & Wesson IDPA Back Up Gun Nationals taking place November 14-16, 2013.

Officials with the International Defensive Pistol Association (IDPA) announced that as part of NSSF’s sponsorship the organization will host the awards banquet taking place Saturday evening, November 16.

“NSSF understands better than anyone else the vital role competitive shooting plays in recruiting new gun owners and educating them on safe, responsible firearms ownership. Held on the indoor ranges of the Smith & Wesson Shooting Sports Center in Springfield, Massachusetts, match officials expect the new championship event to draw upwards of 200 top IDPA shooters vying for titles in either the Pistol or Revolver division.

Registration for the match has begun and a handful of slots are still available for those interested in competing. Registration is being conducted online at MatchReg.com/BUG.

IDPA Welcomes Latest Club, New York’s Pathfinder Fish & Game

BERRYVILLE, Ark. – The International Defensive Pistol Association (IDPA), the fastest growing shooting sport in the nation, has added a new club, Pathfinder Fish & Game located in Fulton, N.Y.

Pathfinder Fish & Game is well known among Mid-Atlantic area competition shooters who have frequented the club to compete in the variety of shooting sports it hosts. Adding the very popular IDPA expands the club’s offerings to better support the local shooting community.

“Pathfinder Fish & Game is excited to add another great recreational shooting activity for our members,” said Bob Russell, the club’s IDPA contact. “With the rapid growth of IDPA, coupled with the increase in the number of concealed carry permit holders, there is a real need for a defensive-style competitive shooting format for those looking to test their skills.”

The club is training and certifying IDPA sanctioned safety officers to run matches which will be hosted every second Sunday of the month, April through November. Brian Steskla Named Match Director Of 2013 Smith & Wesson IDPA BUG Nationals

BERRYVILLE, Ark. – The International Defensive Pistol Association (IDPA) and Smith & Wesson announced that Brian Steskla has been named Match Director of the inaugural Smith & Wesson IDPA Back Up Gun Nationals to take place in Springfield, Mass. November 14-16, 2013.

Smith & Wesson, which for the past 16 years has organized, sponsored and hosted the IDPA Indoor National Championship, is the driving force behind the launch of this new national level championship that will also be held on the indoor ranges of the Smith & Wesson Shooting Sports Center. Upwards of 200 top IDPA shooters are expected to compete for the new national champion title in either the Pistol or Revolver division.

“I am honored to have been selected by IDPA and Smith & Wesson to take the reins of IDPA’s newest national championship event,” said Brian Steskla. “As a sport based on concealed carry scenarios, there is a great demand among IDPA shooters for an opportunity to test their skills with the back up gun.
