BERRYVILLE, Ark. – Ruger Firearms, one of the nation’s most respected gun makers, has signed on as a premier sponsor of the 2014 Smith & Wesson New England Regional IDPA Championship.

Taking place this weekend, August 15-17, the 2014 Smith & Wesson New England Regional IDPA Championship is again being hosted by the MetroWest Tactical IDPA club at the Harvard Sportsmen’s Club.

“Ruger has been a tremendous supporter of the shooting sports, particularly in their own backyard here in New England. We’re very pleased to have them as one of the premier sponsors of this year’s championship,” said Michael Joffe, sponsor coordinator for the New England Regional.

In addition to determining New England’s top IDPA shooter, the New England Regional serves as the second leg of the King of New England series. Presented again this year by Apex Tactical Specialties, the King of New England is a three event concurrent competition featuring four stages from each of New England’s biggest IDPA matches.

Ruger Sponsors 2014 IDPA U.S. National Championship

BERRYVILLE, Ark. – The International Defensive Pistol Association (IDPA) announced that one of the nation’s most respected gun makers, Ruger Firearms, has signed on as one of the major sponsors of the 2014 IDPA U.S. National Championship.

“There is a rich tradition at Ruger of supporting the American shooter and the shooting sports. We’re very pleased to have the support of such a well respected gun maker and to be working with them on this year’s IDPA U.S. Nationals,” said Robert Ray, membership and marketing director for IDPA.

Live Free Or Die Stage 7: Lincoln Logs

SCENARIO: While preparing the next set of logs for your cabin it appears that your neighbors are back for round two. Protect your new homestead.

PROCEDURE: Start holding ax in both hands squared to the log pile. Gun holstered and loaded with only six rounds. Ammo carriers on body.

At the signal, while moving to P2 engage T1-3. At P2 engage the remaining targets. NOTE: Ax activates clamshell at T1. There is no cover at P1. PP1 activates T4, PP2 activates T7. P2 will be a pile of logs.

Live Free Or Die Stage 6: Uncle Mike's Cabin

SCENARIO: Work, Politics, Taxes enough is enough! You sell all your worldly possessions and buy land in the middle of Dunbarton and build a new cabin. While sitting on the porch in your rocking chair sipping your moonshine and marveling at your new creation, you are suddenly attacked by your new neighbors!

PROCEDURE: Start rocking in the rocking chair at P1, moonshine in your strong hand. Gun loaded to division capacity, ammo carriers on body.

At the signal, engage targets through available ports and left side of wall. NOTE: Visual barriers will be used to force shots from appropriate positions. T5 + T6 will have painted hard cover.

BERRYVILLE, Ark. – New Hampshire’s own Ruger Firearms continues its support for the shooting sports as a primary sponsor of the 2013 Smith & Wesson Live Free Or Die State IDPA Championship.

Ruger joins iMarksman, RangeLog, SIG SAUER, Taurus and Smith & Wesson, the title sponsor of the match, as one of the main sponsors of the sold out championship event slated to take place October 18-20 at the Pioneer Sportsmen Club in Dunbarton, N.H.

US Nationals '13 Stage 14: Call The Shot

SCENARIO: You are working in the backyard. Your child wonders out to the front yard and somebody attempts to kidnap him/her.

PROCEDURE: Start at P1, gun loaded and concealed. Hands on rake at X’s, rake head touching mark.

At the signal, draw and move to P2. Engage T1 with 2 rounds to the lower scoring zone and 1 to the upper. You may engage from P2 or choose to move to P3 to be closer or to open up the shot.

SCENARIO: You attending a 2nd Amendment rally hosted by the local Tea Party. Rabid gun grabbers attack the peaceful protest with Molotov cocktails. You are stuck in the crowd and can not move much. Do what you can to help your friends.

PROCEDURE: Start at P1, gun loaded and concealed, both hands are holding protest sign.

At the signal, drop sign and engage T1-T4 with 2 rounds each to the lowers scoring zone in tactical priority. Then re-engage with 1 round to each upper scoring zone.

The Smith & Wesson New England Regional IDPA Championship will take place August 16-18 at the Harvard Sportsmen's Club in Harvard, Massachusetts and will again be hosted by the MetroWest Tactical IDPA club.

S&W Indoor Nationals Stage 4: Skill Drill

Think of it as a "put up or shut up" kinda stage. Stage 4 dares you run 6 rounds freestyle, 6 rounds strong hand and 6 rounds weak hand – and ace it. It's a straight up 'Skill Drill' and was designed by Lou Denys. Our friends at Ruger are the people to thank for the stage sponsorship.

CSO: Your CSO for this stage will be Chris Klassanos.

SCENARIO: You don't need no stinkin' scenario. This is a skill drill.

PROCEDURE: Start standing at P1, loaded with 6 rounds, holstered, with hands at side.

On the signal, draw and while moving to P2 engage target with 6 rounds free style. Reload with 6 rounds and engage target strong hand only, reload and finish weak hand only with 6 rounds. All magazines loaded to 6 rounds max.
