SCENARIO: You’re just trying to surf the web at your favorite internet café when armed robbers decide to shake everyone down.

PROCEDURE: Start seating with back against chair and hands on knees. Gun loaded to division capacity and ammo carriers on body.

Move to P2 to drag the person on the ground to safety past line and engage T1-T3. Move to P3 and engage T4-T7. Note: Shooter must stand before draw. Shooter should be careful to avoid sweeping themselves when reaching for the dummy.

SCENARIO: You’re gassing up the car when a gang attacks the station.

PROCEDURE: Start at P1 holding nozzle in gas filler on car. Gun loaded to division capacity and ammo carriers on body.

Put nozzle back in pump (activating out and back T1 and pop-up T2). Engage T1-T2 stationary or on the move to P2 (T1 and T2 are equal threats). Engage T3-T4 then engage T5-T6 using the van as cover. Note: T1 and T2 are equal threats.

SCENARIO: You’re a “political officer” working in the embassy in Cartegena. You’re traveling with a friend to a meeting when thugs try to kidnap you for ransom. You’ve decided they aren’t taking you without a fight.

PROCEDURE: Start seating at P1 with hands on knees. Gun loaded to division capacity on upside-down bucket. Ammo carriers on body.

Push down dummy with strong hand then engage T1-T2. Then exit the vehicle stepping on the pressure plate at P2 (this activates the clam shell) and engage T3. Then move to the front of the vehicle at P3 and engage T4-T6 through side windows. T4-T6 can only be engaged from P3.

CSOs Named For Smith & Wesson New England Regional IDPA Championship

BERRYVILLE, Ark. – Bob Biehl, Match Director of the 2013 Smith & Wesson New England Regional IDPA Championship, announced the team of Chief Safety Officers (CSO) that will help run the championship.

Biehl named John Catterall, Gene Gelberger, Aaron Haines, Michael Joffe, Ken Lambert, Dave Ritchie and Dave Solimini as the lead safety and scoring officials who will oversee the staff running the 14 stages of the competition.

Working side-by-side with Biehl will be Alan Vail who has taken on the role of Assistant Match Director.

“Every competitor knows that the staff can either make or break a match. That’s why it’s so important to pick a team of CSOs that not only have a great deal of match experience, but also know how to put the shooters first. Alan and I have a terrific team in place and we’re looking forward to another outstanding championship,” said Bob Biehl.

The sold-out Smith & Wesson New England Regional will take place August 16-18 at the Harvard Sportsmen's Club in Harvard, Massachusetts and is again being hosted by the MetroWest Tactical IDPA club.
