host of the 2009 IDPA National Championship.

Another IDPA National Championship has been put to bed and it was a
great one. Match Director Curt Nichols and Assistant Match Director
Jerry Biggs managed to put on a front sight intensive match that had us
breaking records. 359 shooters fired at least 86,519 rounds downrange
during the course of 17 stages. With the number of Failures to
Neutralize and Hits on Non-Threats that were seen, we're betting the
total was much higher than that. When you factor in the 3 side matches,
there was a whole lot of shooting going on. |

Curt Nichols, Jerry Biggs and Robert Ray went out of their way to make
sure that shooters had a great time on and off the range. Please thank
them the next time you see them for all their hard work. Another round
of thanks should go to the special folks at USSA for making us feel
welcome and allowing us the use of their wonderful facilities. In
particular, many thanks to Tom Fee (the owner) and Levi (the rangemaster)
of USSA. Their work behind the scenes helped make this a great match. If you
have the chance to shoot at this range, you should take it. It's
outstanding.

In the stats shack this year, there were an amazing 6,103 stage results
handled. There were actually 2 stats crews working this match; 1 crew
for the main match and another crew for the side matches. With the
number of shooters and stages, we felt this was necessary to make sure
scores were posted in a timely fashion. Don Cannon and Nicole Story
picked up scores for the main match and side matches, while also
entering scores for the side matches. They were a wonderful help to our
usual crew and we would welcome them back to the stats shack any time.
Scores were posted a little later this year because 6 score sheets were
misplaced. However, thanks to ForScore software, we knew the score
sheets were missing so they could be tracked down quickly. Many thanks
to the whole stats shack crew! You did a wonderful job! |

The man with the plan: that would be Robert Ray. Robert has been
planning this match since before the 2008 Championship was held. He did
a wonderful job and we can't thank him enough. There is a tremendous
amount of planning involved in a match like this and Robert's the person
that does all the planning the match director doesn't do. If you had a
